Michael K. Newman, MD

Dr. Newman obtained his undergraduate degree from UCLA and he completed medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. This was followed by general surgery and plastic surgery training at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia campus. Dr. Newman was then selected to pursue fellowship training at Georgetown University Hospital. This fellowship included focused training in both reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery.

Dr. Newman is a board certified plastic surgeon. He joined South Bay Plastic Surgeons in Torrance in 2007 and he has been on staff at Torrance Memorial Medical Center since then. He is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Newman has numerous scientific journal publications, book chapters, presentations, and awards including the Compassionate Doctor Award, the Patient’s Choice Award, and inclusion on the SuperDoctors Rising Stars list in Los Angeles Magazine. His outstanding surgical skills and caring bed-side manner have made him a favorite among Los Angeles plastic surgery patients.
