Gina L. Sulmeyer, MD

Dr. Gina Sulmeyer is a Southern California native. She originally obtained an undergraduate degree at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and went on to medical school at University of Southern California and then followed with residency in emergency medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Sulmeyer has worked in the emergency department at Torrance Memorial for the past 25 years. As more hospitals moved into using computer systems for patient care, Dr. Sulmeyer found an interest in bridging patient care and computer utilization, or informatics. Currently she holds the role of chief medical informatics officer for the Torrance Memorial Health System. In addition, she has served as the chief of emergency medicine since 2018. Outside the hospital, Dr. Sulmeyer enjoys spending time with her family and pets, baking and reading.
