Women Empowered Cancer Support Group (WE CAN)

For nearly 20 years, this group of women have journeyed through their experiences of cancer and beyond. This group empowers women to face their diagnosis, recurrence or experience as a cancer survivor with resilience and support. Women affected by cancer can gain hope and empowerment, obtain practical information on cancer treatment and community resources, address feelings associated with a cancer diagnosis and life beyond treatment, and learn new ways of coping, communicating and connecting.

Mastectomy/Breast Reconstruction Support Group

For women pre and post mastectomy/breast reconstruction. This support group helps support mastectomy/breast cancer reconstruction patients through sharing stories and getting to know other survivors who had a mastectomy/breast reconstruction. RSVP required. Please call (310) 517-4660.

Early Detection

Breast Health Information

Free information on breast cancer screening and how to perform a breast self-examination. RSVP is required, please call (310) 784-6335, option 3.

Low Dose CT Screening

Lung cancer screening for high risk individuals who are aged 55-77 years old, current smoker or former smoker who quit within the last 15 years and smoke at least a 30 pack a year history. Support Groups

No one understands the challenges, fears and experiences related to a cancer diagnosis and treatment better than others who’ve been through the same thing. It’s tremendously helpful to be able to speak with and spend time with other people in treatment for cancer; many people find it as meaningful to provide support as to receive it.

Community Support Groups

Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach

The Cancer Support Community is an international non-profit cancer support organization with a center in Redondo Beach. The Cancer Support Community offers a host of free programs including support groups, classes and wellness workshops to aid cancer patients and their loved ones. Spanish-speaking support group also available.
