AAP Committee on Substance Abuse
The Committee on Substance Abuse (COSA) is concerned with the prevention,
early recognition, screening brief intervention, and appropriate management
of substance use by young people; initiates professional and public education
in this area; and makes appropriate policy recommendations to the membership.
COSA produces materials for use by physicians and works with governmental,
public, and private organizations to address and advance common goals

Monitoring the Future (MTF)
MTF is a study that surveys the long term effects of illicit drug use among
American adolescents and adults, as well as personals levels of perceived
risk and disapproval for each drug.

National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) is one of
the 27 institutes and centers that comprise the National Institutes of
Health (NIH). NIAAA supports and conducts research on the impact of alcohol
use on human health and well-being. It is the largest funder of alcohol
research in the world.
