Pain Management: A Challenging Aspect of Healthcare

Aims to present topics that are relevant in the improvement of pain management
and patient hospital experience.
The participants will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of anesthesiology concepts to pain management for patients
in pre-operative to post-operative phase of hospital care.
- Gain understanding on the complexity of urine drug testing during opioid therapy.
- Get insight on trends in medical use and abuse of opioid therapy.
- Understand and apply elements for successful weight loss.
- Relate mental health in pain management.
- Gain knowledge on economic issues affecting pain management.
Nurses, physicians CNAs/Tech, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and
other health care professionals.
Continuing Education Credit
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider
Number CEP 300.
Registration fee includes lectures, continental breakfast, lunch, snack,
Torrance Memorial Physicians, Nurses and Staff - $50
Non Torrance Memorial Physicians, Nurses and Staff - $75
If space is available, walk-in registration will be accepted at the door.
Lunch will be provided for walk-ins if supplies allow.
A full refund will be given if this program is canceled. No fees will be
refunded if the participant cancels within 48 hours of the program. Cancellations
prior to 48 hours will receive a refund, minus a $20 processing fee.

The Hoffman Health Conference Center is located on Medical Center Drive
between Lomita Blvd. and Skypark Drive. Parking is free in the adjacent
in the West Parking structure.
From the Westside or the San Fernando Valley
Take the 405 Freeway South, exit Hawthorne Boulevard, and turn right. Go
approximately 4.5 miles and turn left on Lomita Boulevard. The medical
center will be on your right.
From Long Beach or Orange County
Take the 405 Freeway North. Transition to the Harbor Freeway (110) South
toward San Pedro. Exit Sepulveda Boulevard and turn right, go about 2
miles and turn left on Crenshaw Boulevard; go about 1 mile and turn right
on Lomita Boulevard; go about 1 mile and the medical center will be on
