In 2008, the Endoscopy Center/GI Lab expanded with the addition of beds for patients both before and after their procedures

Torrance Memorial Medical Center offers advanced technology designed for detecting, diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders as well as making patients as comfortable as possible throughout their procedure. The Endoscopy Center houses five procedure rooms and offers a full range of gastrointestinal (GI) testing, including:

• Colonoscopy
• Upper endoscopy
• Feeding tube placement
• ERCP
• Endoscopic ultrasound
• 24-hour pH monitoring
• Capsule endoscopy

In addition, epidural injections for pain management and bronchoscopy are also performed in the Endoscopy Center.

A physician's order is necessary to schedule procedures in The Endoscopy Center, located in the basement of Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Outpatient procedures are scheduled Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5:30 pm. A waiting room is available to accommodate family members of patients.
