Torrance Memorial Urgent Care

Meet Our Physicians

All of our physicians are either board certified or residency-trained in Emergency Medicine giving them the skills necessary to handle any urgent care medical problem. Many of our physicians have more than 10 years of experience working in the emergency department at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.

Meet our Urgent Care Medical Directors:


Dr. Brian Miura, M.D.

Dr. Miura graduated from UC San Francisco medical school where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society.  He then completed his Emergency Medicine residency training at UCLA Medical Center where he was selected as one of the chief residents.  For almost 14 years now, Dr. Miura has been working as a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.  He was also a clinical faculty member in the UCLA Emergency Medicine program from 1997 to 2009.  When not working, Dr. Miura enjoys snowboarding, running, and golfing.  Dr. Miura has been the Medical Director of the Torrance Memorial Urgent Care since its inception and looks forward to continuing to provide quality after-hours medical care to the Beach Cities community.




Dr. Franklin Pratt, M.D.

Dr. Pratt completed his Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine residencies at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center after graduating from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Illinois. He currently serves as Medical Director of the Torrance Memorial Lundquist Emergency Department as well as Medical Director for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. In addition, Dr. Pratt is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine/Emergency Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has also completed a Master's degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. 





  

Dr. Michael Tarnay, M.D.

Dr. Tarnay has been an attending Emergency Medical Physician at Torrance Memorial for over twelve years and has been a staff physician at Manhattan Beach Urgent Care since its inception.  Dr. Tarnay completed his Emergency medicine residency at UCLA Medical Center after graduating from Georgetown University Medical School.  He has served as a clinical faculty member at UCLA and also has international medical experience training physicians in East Africa.
