General Information

For Patients, please see our Registration Guide for information about your upcoming appointment at Torrance Memorial.

Visiting Guidelines

Visits by family members and friends are encouraged. Torrance Memorial's visiting hours and policies have been created with this in mind. Visiting hours are generally from 8 am to 8 pm Visitors should be free of communicable diseases. Children may visit general sections of the medical center under the supervision of a visiting adult. In certain circumstances, a family member may stay overnight, depending on the situation. Please speak to your nurse about special needs.

Individual departments may have additional approved guidelines for visitors depending on a patient's care needs and department activity. Please discuss theses guidelines with your nurse.

Parking

We offer free parking in two parking structures, the Main Parking structure located the east side of the hospital and the West Parking structure, located next to our Health Conference Center (on Medical Center Drive.)

Information Desks

The first stop your visitors will want to make is at one of the information desks within the medical center. A volunteer will direct visitors to patient rooms or other hospital facilities.

Waiting Areas

Visitor waiting areas are located across from the visitor elevators on each floor. Additional waiting areas include the North Lobby (Visitor North Entrance), Registration Lobby (Main Entrance) and the Outpatient Center (Day Surgery) across from the West Tower. An inpatient surgery waiting area, located on the first floor near the Gift Shop, provides an area where family and friends can wait to speak with your surgeon after your operation. Each weekday this area is attended by a volunteer who will keep your family informed of your progress. Live piano performances occur several times each day in the North Lobby for relaxation and enjoyment.

Hotel Accommodations

For out-of-town guests, a list of area hotels is available at the medical center's reception desk located in the main lobby.

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop, located on the first floor of the North wing, is staffed and operated by members of the Torrance Memorial Volunteer Auxiliary. The Gift Shop is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors will find a variety of merchandise, including gift items, flowers and plants, toys and stuffed animals, and clothing. Toiletries and reading material are also stocked for the convenience of patients. Visit our Online Gift Shop for gifts that can be delivered to our patients' room.

Quiet Room

A quiet room is located on the first floor near the Gift Shop, serves as an area for reflection or meditation. Visitors are welcome at any time.
