Dr. Hammer is a 1973 graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine.
Following an internship at USC/LAC Medical Center, he finished his training in 1977 as Chief Resident at UC Davis Family Practice in Costa Contra County Medical Services following his belief that primary care is the cornerstone of any well-planned system of medical care.
He has practiced in the South Bay since 1977, and for the last 15 years has been involved in teaching medical students, most recently as a clinical assistant professor in Family Practice for Keck/USC Medical Center.
In 2013 he was named "Preceptor of the Year in Family Practice" for Keck/USC.
Dr. Hammer enjoys long-distance swimming, collecting modern art and being a Dad to his daughter, Katy.
