As a California native, Dr. Banffy grew up spending time in the outdoors enjoying a variety of sports. The active lifestyle attracted him to orthopedics where he could help others continue to do the same. After undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley and medical school in New York at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he traveled to Boston, MA to complete his orthopaedic residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program. He returned to California to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the renowned Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip, and elbow, cartilage restoration, and joint replacements. Now that he and his family are established in the South Bay of Los Angeles, Dr. Banffy continues to enjoy surfing, hiking, skiing and golf.
