Dr. Baek received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry after graduating summa cum laude from the University of Southern California. He then attended Harvard Medical School, where he also graduated with honors and received his medical degree.

After medical school, Dr. Baek completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at UCLA, where he served a year as a Chief Resident. He later stayed at UCLA to complete subspecialty fellowship training in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Baek is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology. He maintains his Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology as well.

Although performing a wide variety of procedures as an interventional radiologist, Dr. Baek has special interest in the treatment of cancer patients, including tumor ablation and embolization. He is a member of multiple professional societies, and has been an invited speaker on the role of Interventional Radiology in the treatment of cancer.
