Torrance Memorial Medical Center’s 29th Annual Holiday Festival

holiday festival tree In a community tradition that’s spanned nearly three decades, South Bay residents will come out to kick off the holiday season when Torrance Memorial Medical Center hosts the 29th annual Holiday Festival, Tuesday, November 27 through Sunday, December 2. The six-day extravaganza offers something for all ages to get into the “winter wonderland” spirit. The giant white tent on hospital grounds features more than 35 themed, volunteer-decorated faux evergreen trees, along with Santa and his sleigh. Guests will enjoy holiday treats by Torrance Bakery, a food court, music and dancing by more than 30 local groups. This year’s event raises funds for the medical center’s planned 390,000-square-foot, seven-story patient tower, opening in 2015.

“Not only has the Holiday Festival become a tradition for so many in the community, but it’s a wonderful way in which Torrance Memorial supports the healthcare needs of our residents for generations to come,” said Laura Schenasi, executive vice president, Torrance Memorial Health Care Foundation. “The generosity of donors and the volunteers who make each tree so special are key to making the event such a success.”

Highlights of the festival include Festival Fashions on November 27—a boutique, luncheon and fashion show featuring original designs by French and Peruvian designer Jessica Barkley and Kevan Hall, designer to the stars; the Festival Night Gala dinner and auction on November 30; and lunch with Santa on December 2.

There will be an opportunity drawing and the chance to win a cash prize, a certificate tree and a 2013 Lexus ES 300h Hybrid donated by Toyota Motors Sales, U.S.A., Inc. The drawing will be held Sunday, December 2 at 3 p.m. Attendance is not required to redeem prizes.
