California Proposition 65 Warning

Proposition 65 is a California State law that regulates chemical carcinogens and reproductive toxins to protect environmental and public health.

Hospitals, including Torrance Memorial, utilize products that contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Such products include, but are not limited to:

  • Catheters
  • Formaldehyde
  • Trays
  • IV Tubing's or other
  • Irrigation Sets flexible plastic products
  • Mucous Traps
  • Sterilized Kits
  • Wound Care Kits
  • Heavy metals or metal
  • Vitamin A prosthetics
  • Syringes
  • Leaded glass
  • Drains (Penrose)
  • Prescription or over the
  • Airways counter drugs
  • Blood Draw Kits
  • Enema Kits
  • Mercury Thermometers
  • Specimen Containers and Collection Sets
  • Products or Devices sterilized with Ethylene Oxide or made with Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate ("DEHP") which is a plasticizer to make PVC products soft)
