Tiffany Zanelli takes on the role of director of the Vasek & Anna Maria Polak Breast Diagnostic Center. Zanelli started work at Torrance Memorial on Sept. 7, 1999 as an X-ray technologist in the main hospital. She moved to the Breast Diagnostic Center in July, 2001, where she worked her way up to become Mammography Quality Control supervisor. According to Zanelli, women are always taking care of other people, so the best part of her job is “helping women put themselves first when it comes to their health and assuring their longevity.” She is proud that BDC has long maintained its status as an American College of Radiology (ACR) Center of Excellence. Her goals include maintaining this excellence and increasing patient volume at the satellite centers.
While Torrance Memorial stays ahead of the game when it comes to the most advanced equipment, she hopes it will soon acquire a tomosynthesis mammography unit, which provides the most vivid imaging of dense breast tissue.
