Complete Cardiovascular Surgical Care in Your Community

Welcome to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Program, a division of the Lundquist Cardiovascular Institute at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, a leader in cardiovascular care, distinguished by our renowned specialists, advanced technology and research. The cardiac surgery team is dedicated, committed and privileged to provide care that exceeds your expectations.

Our Cardiothoracic Program is affiliated with USC's Keck School of Medicine. This relationship expands the cardiovascular care available to South Bay residents.

Our Commitment

  • Coordinated care
  • Patient- and family-centered care with continual updates during surgery
  • Individualized treatment plan including cardiothoracic surgery education
  • Follow-up care after discharge
  • Facilitation of a smooth discharge home or transfer to a rehabilitation facility, depending on your ongoing needs

A Collaborative Approach, One Patient at a Time

Our highly-skilled teams of cardiac surgeons, nurses and ancillary staff strive to give each patient personalized and compassionate care from the moment they enter our doors. Our surgical program offers a Total Care team approach: on-site cardiologists, interventional radiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, nurse practitioners, dedicated operating room and cardiovascular floor nurses, dietitians, respiratory care practitioners, occupational therapists and physical therapists.

Nothing is more evident of this unique method than the cardiac surgery conference that occurs every Wednesday morning. Clinicians gather to discuss each surgical case in-depth – reading imaging studies, medical history and discussing the best course of action to optimize treatment for each patient. Sometimes the option moves away from surgery and into less invasive procedures such as stent placements and cardiac rehabilitation. Patients can be assured that a recommendation from their physician is the culmination of best options, practices and expert advice.
