"PlantPure Nation" with Dr. T. Colin Campbell

Tuesday, September 29, 2015
6:30PM

Screening of the new movie, PlantPure Nation with follow-up discussion and book signing by Dr. T. Colin Campbell.

The documentary film “PlantPure Nation” tells the story of three people on a quest to spread the message of one of the most important health breakthroughs of all time. Dr. T. Colin Campbell argues that a diet consisting primarily of whole plant-based foods treats the underlying causes of the most deadly health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Showing how industry lobbyists work to prevent public awareness of the healing powers of a plant-based diet, the documentary takes us on a journey to a small rural town, and shows how a plant-based diet can be implemented in a “meat and potatoes” community. The filmwas directed by Dr. T. Nelson Campbell, produced by John Corry and co-written by Lee Fulkerson of “Forks Over Knives”. The film will be followed by a discussion led by Dr. T. Colin Campbell.

Dr. T. Colin Campbell was trained at Cornell (M.S., Ph.D.) and MIT (Research Associate) in nutrition, biochemistry and toxicology. He spent 10 years on the faculty of Virginia Tech's Department of Biochemistry and Nutrition before returning to the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell in 1975 where he presently holds his Endowed Chair (now Emeritus). He has served on many national and international expert committees with mandates to develop food and health policy positions. He is the recipient of several awards, both in research and in citizenship. He is the author of The China Study and Whole and was a major contributor to the film “Forks Over Knives.”
