Held annually on the Sunday before Thanksgiving in the spirit of the holiday season and in celebration of National Hospice and Palliative Care month, this beautiful and reflective event recognizes and honors individuals through a tree lighting and name reading ceremony. Guests are invited to place a star in honor of their loved ones on this very special Tree of Remembrance. Gifts from these dedications of “light” will be used to bring the comfort of hospice into the lives of our terminally ill patients and their families in the South Bay.
Individuals can illuminate a light on the hospice tree by making a donation of any amount. By contributing a gift of $100 or more, donors will receive a crystal star pin or necklace. Gifts of $500 will be named Bronze Leaf Donors and will receive an engraved leaf inscribed with the name of the honoree, which will be placed on the Tree of Life donor wall located in the Home Health & Hospice lobby. Donors of $1,000 will be named Silver Leaf donors and will also receive a leaf on the Tree of Life. Donors of $2,000 or more will be named Gold Leaf Donors as well as an engraved leaf. Donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS code section 170(f)(8).
Donations raised by Light Up a Life will assist those who cannot afford necessary hospice care and will help to provide services when a patient's financial resources fall short. These services include quality nursing care, psychological, social and spiritual counseling and pain management. Donations are welcomed and appreciated at the event, or you may donate online.
