Offered to health care professionals and to the community. Upon successful completion of class, an American Heart Association card is given.

Heartsaver
is a four-hour course that teaches basic heartsaving and one-person rescue. The cost is $37.50/person including AHA guide.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS Certification) is an eight-hour course designed for health care professionals. This course covers basic heartsaver, two-person rescue, infant and child CPR and obstructed airway. The cost is $47.50/person.

BLS Recertification
is a four-hour course to review all BLS topics, basic heartsaver, two-person rescue, infant and child CPR, and obstructed airway. You must have a current BLS card to attend. The cost is $55.00/person. All fees include required textbook.
- Pediatric Basic Cardiac Life Support (PBLS) is a 3 1/2-hour course which teaches life-saving skills for infants and children, such as CPR and basic care of children in emergencies. Upon successful completion of class, an AHA card is given, valid for two years. The cost is $35.00/person
First Aid
Teaches how to care for victims of injuries or sudden illness. Topics include uncontrolled bleeding, burns, poisoning, shock, and choking emergencies. A certificate will be issued upon successful course completion. First Aid certification is valid for three years.

Infant/Child CPR
A three-hour workshop that teaches life-saving skills for infants and children, such as CPR, and basic care of children in emergencies. The workshop includes what to do in case of choking, when to call paramedics, and what to tell them. Class is offered in both English and Spanish.

Medications 101
A free educational lecture by a Torrance Memorial pharmacist. Topics include myths and facts about combining herbs, over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs; age-related effects of drugs; generic versus name brand medication. The two-hour class is offered twice a year.

Questions For The Pharmacist
A monthly drop-in support group for people with questions about their medicines. It provides help in understanding and managing medication to improve effective usage. Group meets from 10:00am to 11:00am on the first Thursday of the month.

A weekly drop-in meeting designed to enhance meditation skills. Prior meditation experience is preferred, but not required. The group meets from 4:30pm to 5:30pm on Tuesdays.
