Due to the current influenza season, Torrance Memorial will be implementing a seasonal visitation policy at the hospital.
Effective November 11, 2009, all visitors under the age of 18 and all visitors exhibiting flu-like symptoms will be restricted from all patient areas.
Young adults may be asked to provide proper identification to hospital personnel upon entry into patient care areas. This is a new and temporary policy due to higher levels of the flu this year. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to keeping our staff, patients and visitors safe this season!
This visitation policy
does not apply to children and young adults seeking medical attention.
Children and young adults are at a higher risk to contract the flu due to their high interaction and population considerations at school. Our seasonal visitation policy is consistent with policies currently instated at surrounding medical facilities.
