The Polak Imaging Pavilion is a free-standing facility located adjacent to Torrance Memorial Medical Center. (link to map) Designed with patient comfort and convenience in mind, the Pavilion features expedited registration, comfortable waiting areas and convenient parking.
While some diagnostic imaging tests need to be done at the Graziadio Imaging Centerin the Main Hospital, most outpatient diagnostic tests are conducted at the Polak Imaging Pavilion. A broad range of state-of-the-art imaging technologies are offered at Polak, including:
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA)
- Computerized tomography (CT scan) and computerized tomography angiogram (CTA scan)
- All digital X-ray
- Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and PET/CT
- Ultrasound (abdominal, obstetrical/fetal, pelvic, vascular, thyroid)
The facility is staffed by specialized radiologists and highly trained staff which includes licensed technologists and RNs specially trained in management of patients undergoing imaging studies.
If you would like a compact disc (CD) of your scan images, ask the staff at the reception desk in the lobby before you leave-usually they can provide a copy within a few minutes. Or, if you decide later you would like a copy of your scan, call the Polak Imaging Pavilion at 310-784-6323, option 3 to arrange for a copy to be made for pick-up.
The Pavilion is named for Vasek Polak, whose generous support of Torrance Memorial also helped fund the Vasek and Anna Maria Polak Breast Diagnostic Center
