Thoracic Aortic Surgery Program
Torrance Memorial Medical Center's Thoracic Aortic Surgery Program provides patient-centered, compassionate care to individuals and families affected by thoracic aortic disease (TAD), which generally includes aneurysm, dissection, and coarctation of the aorta in the chest. Heart valve disease and other cardiac conditions may be present and are addressed along with the aorta.
Dr. Sharo Raissi, M.D., Medical Director of Thoracic Aortic Surgery, and a highly-skilled, multi-disciplinary team coordinate the evaluation and treatment of TAD patients using state-of-the-art techniques. For each individual, a plan is created to address blood pressure, exercise and lifestyle, follow-up testing and care, and when needed, surgery.
