Certified with commendations as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer, the Torrance Memorial Cancer Center provides a wide variety of comprehensive cancer care options.
With breast cancer recognized as the most prevalent type of cancer in women, Torrance Memorial established the Vasek and Anna Maria Polak Breast Diagnostic Center to support the early detection and treatment of the disease. And with dedicated Breast Health Navigators - registered nurses specializing in breast health and breast cancer treatment - each diagnosed patient is given a single point of contact for consistent personal attention through their care program.
Also, innovative treatments and clinical trials for a variety of cancer diagnoses are available through our Vasek Polak Research Program. This resource for clinical and health sciences research conducts studies sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI)

Torrance Memorial also reaches patients and families following treatment, into survivorship. As one of three community partners to the UCLA-LIVESTRONG® Cancer Survivorship Center of Excellence in the state, the Torrance Memorial
Cancer Survivorship Program leads in preventing a recurrence with lifestyle and wellness education.
