Areas of concern identified during an ultrasound can be biopsied with ultrasound guidance, using core needle biopsy techniques - an outpatient procedure which only requires local numbing. A radiologist
can remove several tissue samples during a single procedure, which will then be reviewed by Torrance Memorial pathologists. This precise technique can identify very small areas of concern and gather information about breast health with the least amount of invasiveness. Patients can return to normal activities immediately following the procedure.
