The Director of Infection Control ensures the continuing quality of the hospital infection control program for the prevention and control of infectious diseases within the patient community. The job requires both specialized knowledge of infection control requirments and an ability to communicate those requirments to hospital staff members. The Director of Infection Control must be able to work independently and with a minimum of supervision in assessing patient needs and hospital procedures.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure as an RN in California; a Master's Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or Public Health with four (4) years of clinical experience and three (3) year experience infection control.
